1. MOVEMENT or exercise to get the blood and endorphins flowing.
2. COLD WATER. Even just 1 minute in a cold shower is incredibly effective.
3. BREATHING IN MORE OXYGEN. While sitting down (in case you feel dizzy), take ten bigger and deeper breaths in and follow it by a quicker than your usual out breath.
4. FULLY HYDRATED. Drink plenty of water and non-caffeinated drinks. Even slight dehydration causes a loss of focus and cognitive ability.
5. UPLIFTING MUSIC. Get your favourite energy-raising, uplifting tune on loud and even better if you dance around to it as if no one is watching.
6. MEDITATION. Reduces the amount of energy the brain is using sending nerve impulses (such as when we are consciously thinking). The brain is energy expensive (it only weighs about 2% of our bodyweight yet uses approximately 20% of the body’s energy). We think around 60,000 thoughts per day depending on how you estimate it. If we are awake for 16 hours per day, that means that every 15 minutes we have nearly 1000 thoughts! No wonder we can feel tired at times.
